Rejoice, again I say Rejoice. Prentice Cooper Sexton is now dancing with God.

He left this life to start his new life on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He now joins his parents, Wiley and Lena Sexton; brothers, Hurley, James, & D.H.; and his sister, Edith Carlisle and several other family members.

He leaves behind his loving, devoted wife of 50 years, Michele; his children, the pride of his life, Michael (& wife, Tina Dick), Stephen (& wife, Carla Gilland), and Suzanne (& husband, Kerry James). He also leaves behind the absolute joys of his life; his grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, Emily, Destiny, Austin, Connor, Nathaniel, & Lily; and his brothers, Gordon (& wife, Janice) of Del Rio, Harold of Newport, L.S. (& wife, Alicia) of Warren, MI and sister; Carolyn Gentry of Garden City, MI; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other family members & friends.

He was born July 24, 1938 and raised in Del Rio, TN; and moved to Detroit in 1957 to work. He met Michele Pampreen in 1964 and they were married in August of 1966. He returned with his family to Newport in 1982. With the help of his wife and family, he opened The Fox And Hounds Restaurant. It was his life and passion for 20 years. After his retirement, he still loved restaurant work; and, at the time of his death, was employed at Taste Of Dandridge.

Prentice & Michele are devoted members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where they praise God in this loving community of compassion and love.

The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to all of the staff at Fresenius of Newport, where Prentice was a dialysis patient for almost seven years.

The family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Catholic Church Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4PM to 6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin promptly at 7PM with Father Bob Hofstetter officiating
