Sister Michaella Browne, 81, a Sister of St. Martha of Bethany Motherhouse, died at Bethany on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000. Born in Grand Falls, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Brennan) Browne. Sister Michaella entered the Sisters of St. Martha in August of 1941. Sister served in clerical and homemaking fields in the early years of her religious life and later in parish ministry. Sister served at St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish; St. Rita Hospital, Sydney; St. Alphonse Convent, Blairmore; Mount Carmel Convent, Canmore; Mineral Springs Hospital, Banff; Martha Center, Lethbridge; St. Michael's Hospital, Lethbridge; St. Elizabeth Convent, Calgary, and at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Convent, Kamloops, B.C. In 1995, Sister retired to Bethany. She is survived by one sister, Marie Browne, of Grand Falls, Nfld. She was predeceased by a brother Michael and two sisters, Eileen Browne and Lucy Regan.The remains are resting at Bethany Motherhouse where a Bible Vigil will be held today (Monday) at 7:30 p.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Bethany Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Services Ltd.
