Granville Graden Brasfield, 88, of Jefferson City died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in Pasadena, Texas. He was born on September 17, 1921, in Amory, Mississippi to William Harrison and Docia Brasfield. He graduated high school and Droan College in West Memphis, Arkansas. On February 5, 1950, Granville was united in marriage to Wanda Maxwell, who preceded him in death on December 19, 2008. Granville worked for Houston Power and Light for 30 years and part-time for Sears for 27 years. He served in the United States Army - 9th Armory Division. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, and a missionary with Southern Baptist Convention Service Corp. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and making blue bird houses. He is survived by his son, Granville Graden Brasfield, II and wife, Carol Ann of Pasadena, Texas; daughters, Pamela Sue King and husband, Gary of Orange, Texas, Cynthia Ann Barfield of Jefferson City, Missouri; sister, Lavell Howell of Amory, Mississippi; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Mark Anthony Barfield; two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3pm on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Graveside services will be held at 3pm in the Grand View Memorial Park.
