Mrs. Jesse [Jessie] Besse Dies Tuesday Eve
Her Many Friends and Relatives Are Saddened at the News of Her Death
Mrs. Jessie Besse, wife of Harry Besse, died Tuesday evening at 10:20 o'clock at their farm home east of Cincinnati. She passed away quietly following a brief illness.

She is survived by eight daughters, three sisters, twenty-one grandchildren and one great grand child. The daughters are Mrs. Ada Carey, Mrs. Iva Davis, Mrs. Ruth Stirts, Mrs. Gladys Gardner, all of Cincinnati; Mrs. Alice Rass [Ross], Carbondale, Wash.; Mrs. Vivian Stickler, and Mrs. Geneva Marrow [Morrow], both of Exline; and Mrs. Vera Whitney, of Centerville.

Her three sisters who survive are Mrs. Clara Peatman and Mrs. Minnie Wages, both of Centerville, and Mrs. Stella Besse, of Centerville. The brother surviving is B. Frank Lee, of Centerville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Cincinnati.

It is with great sorrow that her many friends and relatives receive the news of her death, and their expressions of sympathy are sincerely extended to her family.

Mrs. Darrel Morrow Of Exline Mourns Passing Of Mother
Mrs. Harry Bessie [Besse], the mother of Mrs. Darrel Morrow, of Exline, passed on Tuesday night. Many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral has been postponed to Saturday afternoon awaiting arrival of relatives from Washington.

Cincinnati, Ia. (Special) - Mrs. Jessie A. Besse pioneer resident of near Cincinnati passed away at her country home Tuesday night 10:15 where they had resided for 47 years.

In death she is survived by her husband Harry Besse and eight daughters.

Mrs. Walter Carey, Mrs. Iva Davis of Cincinnati, Mrs. Alice Ross, Carbondale, Washington, Mrs. Ruth Stirts, Cincinnati, Mrs. Gladis [Gladys] Gardner of Cincinnati, Mrs. Eva [Vivian] Stickler of Exline, Mrs. Keneva [Geneva] Morrow, Exline, Mrs. Vera Whitney, Centerville. One brother Frank Lee, of Centerville, and three sisters, Mrs. Ray Peatman, Mrs. Minnie Wages of Centerville, Mrs. Mac Besse of Cincinnati.

Because of the inability of relatives living in Washington to arrive in time for services on Friday, as originally planned, the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Jesse [Jessie] Besse, who died Tuesday evening, have been changed to Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Cincinnati.

Jessie Besse
Jessie Ann Lee, daughter of John and Phoebe Lee, was born January 20, 1874, in Pleasant Township and departed for her home in heaven on Tuesday, November 4, 1941 at her home near Cincinnati, Ia., at the age of 67 years, 10 months, 14 days. On May 26, 1892 she was united in marriage to Henry L. Besse. To this union nine daughters were born. One daughter preceded her in death in 1916 at the age of three years. Surviving her are her husband and eight daughters: Mrs. Ada Carey, Mrs. Iva Davis, Mrs. Ruth Stirts, Mrs. Gladys Gardner of Cincinnati, Iowa, Mrs. Alice Ross of Carbonado [Carbondale], Washington, Mrs. Vivian Stickler, Mrs. Geneva Morrow of Exline, Mrs. Vera Whitney of Centerville, and their husbands.

Also 21 grandchildren and 1 great grand child, three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Stella Besse, Cincinnati, Mrs. Clara Peatman, Mrs. Minnie Wages and B. Frank Lee of Centerville.

Her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Cline and Miss Mamie Lee preceded her in death.

She spent her entire life in Pleasant Township, having lived at their present home for 47 years.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1900 and was a true and faithful servant to the end. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and always ready to help anyone in need. Had she lived they would have celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary on May 26, 1942.
