Reuben Christian Sublett, Jr. "Spriggy" age 71, of Sterling, Alaska passed away on Wednesday, January 18th in Flower Mound, Texas. He was born August 15th, 1945 in Kerrville, Texas. He married Bobbie Tomes in 1968. Upon graduating from Angelo State University in 1969, they moved to Sterling, Alaska. He began teaching at Sterling Elementary and transferred to Kenai Elementary. He taught for 20 years in the Kenai Peninsula School District, and earned his master's degree in education from the University of Alaska.


R.C. commercial fished for 48 years in Cook Inlet, was a small aircraft pilot and owned a contracting business. He led an adventurous life with a love of fishing and hunting. He was an amazing story teller and always had a joke to share. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many.


R.C. was preceded in death by his Mother, Aileen McNealy Sublett and Father, Reuben Christian Sublett.


R.C. will be dearly missed by his family and friends.


Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 22nd at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX 78028. Interment will follow at Nichols Cemetery.
