LaVon R. Rasmussen, age 86, of York, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at York. She was born February 26 , 1931 in Sutton, NE to Ben and Edna (Hust) Schwab . She and her husband Richard were married March 3, 1949 in Council Bluffs, IA. LaVon was a member of First United Methodist Church in York and a lifetime member of the PTA.
Survivors include daughter Linda Weber and son Scott (Roxane) Rasmussen of Lincoln; grandchildren:Tara (Mark) Weber Kawar of Falls Church, VA, Megan Weber of Lincoln, Tayna (Brian) Rezac of Omaha, and Miranda (Shaun) Soulliere of Lincoln; great grandchildren: Stella and Alice Kawar of Falls Church VA, Hudson and Cooper Rezac of Omaha, and Kollyns and Beckham Soulliere of Lincoln; sister Delores Townsend of York; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Richard “Dick” H. Rasmussen, parents Ben and Edna Schwab, and sister Mary Urbach.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 24 , 2017 at Metz Chapel with the Reverend Ralph Gaines officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the services. Cremation. No viewing or visitation. Private family inurnment. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
