She was born in Ranger, Eastland county, Texas, Nov 30, 1923 to Ira and Lorinda (Calvert) Elliott The family moved around. Also living in Arkansas and Oklahoma. They came to Seattle, King County, Washington in 1933. Where she lived and graduated from Franklin High School, in the Rainier Valley.
On Aug. 29, 1941, she and her sister Anna had double marriages. She married Orville A. Rupe. A short time later he went into the Navy to serve in World War II. They had two children, Robert "Bob" and Sheila.
Her second marriage was to Dareld Frederick "Fred" Hendry. They lived in California and Utah for many years before finally settling in the tri-city area of Washington. They had one child, Scott Lewis.
Fred and Margery were both cremated. Their ashes were buried together at Tahoma National Cemetery.
