The MIA program was furnished by the chorus girls Tuesday night. The girls were costumed as Indians and sang all Indian songs. The girls are to be complimented on the talent displayed. Those taking part were Delila Barton and Delna Barton, Rhea Cope, Bernice Baugh, Jean Bybee, Frances, Verna and Marilla Riding and Nina Pollock.

On September 26 [1938] , Delila Barton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Leo Barton and Ross Heaton of Alton, were married in the St. George Temple. Tuesday evening last week a wedding party and dance was given them. Many beautiful presents were received.
Obituary:
Alton - Delila Barton Heaton, age 95, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 in St. George, Utah. She was born March 21, 1916 in Tropic, Utah to Leo Lorenzo and Karma Johnson Barton, the oldest of eleven children. She married Ross Esplin Heaton on September 26, 1938 in the St. George Temple.
Delila spent her youth in Tropic. She loved music and dancing, and played in a dance orchestra which brought her to Alton at times. She loved her younger siblings and cousins. She worked at Bryce Canyon and grew to enjoy nature.
After marrying Ross, she spent the rest of her life living in Alton. She spent several years helping her husband herd sheep on the Arizona Strip, near Alton, and on the East Fork of the Virgin. She became an avid fishing and camping fan during this time, which led to many camping trips with her children and grandchildren as well as extended family. She loved Pine Lake and Tropic Reservoir.
Ross and Delila became the parents of three children, Ferril (Dot), Carolee (Lamont) and Ross Elgin. She loved her family and was very kind and generous both with time and means. She taught them both by example and learning, and encouraged them to be involved in the community and their church. Her husband passed away in 1971 following a horse accident, leaving her to care for their invalid son by her self. Her son Ross passed away in 1980.
Delila loved to garden and share what she raised with others. She played violin with the Valley High School Senior Orchestra for six years. She enjoyed traveling, once spending one month traveling around Europe. She loved going to the Senior Citizens Center. She worked in the Temple and doing Extraction Work for several years, and always maintained a positive attitude and looked for the best in other people.
Delila was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ross, son Ross, one great-granddaughter, and siblings Wren Barton, Garth Barton, Delna Kenworthy, and Elsa Riding. She is survived by her children Ferril (Dorothy) Heaton and Carolee (Lamont) Anderson, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters Junus (Margaret Ann) Barton, Karl (Carol) Barton, Jay (Shirley) Barton, Billie Barton, Mary (Norman) Cox, and Sylvia (Steve) Kirkland, and -in-laws Vard Heaton and Alma Heaton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Alton Utah LDS Church, with a viewing from 11:30-12:45 PM in the Relief Society Room. Burial will be in the Alton Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
