Medina Gazette: Nellie E. Weaver, 80, of Coventry Township, died Saturday, Dec 24, 1988, at Edwin Shaw Hospital in Akron. Born in New York, she was a former resident of Chippewa-on-the-lake. She was retired from A. I. Root Co. She is survived by her husband, Cloyd; daughter, Barbara Caudel of Lodi; son, Gail Epling of Wilcox, Ariz; step-daughters; step-sons; sister, Netthe Maneval of Akron; and many grandchildren. Service; 1 p. m. Friday, Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. Charles Hofmeister will officiate. Burial; Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville. Visiting hours; 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, funeral home.
She was preceeded in death by her first husband Hayden Epling.

Nellie was just a hoot. She was the best "popcorn" maker EVER. I used to go spend nights at her house and we would have "PJ" parties, stay up all night. Once I remember we heard a noise out by the garage, and out she goes with her broom yelling, whoever out there better get the "hell" outta here. I don't think she was afraid of anyone or anything. If she liked you...it was good, if she didn't well...she wouldn't hesitate to tell you so. She was very good to our family, and when Uncle Don married her daughter, Gramma and Grandpa was very happy.
