In 1921, he married Ione Dixon Ervin, they were married eight short years when he developed septicemia due to a bone infection (osteomyelitis) and died at the young age of twenty-eight. No known children were born from this union.
At the time of his death he was working as a bookkeeper for the Carr Motor Springs Company.
