After suffering a paralytic stroke at his home on rural route 4, George C. Wright, age 80, a retired farmer died at the W. S. Major Hospital Sunday at 12:50 p.m. He had been taken to the hospital Sunday for emergency treatment.

The son of John and Ann (Ridlen) Wright, he was born in Noble township on November 25, 1869.

He was married on March 25, 1888 to Anna Dixon, who survives with two of three children born to the union. A daughter, Mrs. Clara Hall, preceded him in death. Those surviving are Mrs. Mae, husband Clifford, Smith and Mrs. Hazel Douthit of this city. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Last rites were held at the Murphy Mortuary Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Robert Cavaness officating and burial was in the Van Pelt cemetery. Friends called at the mortuary after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
