E. Louise (Brumbaugh) Schrecengost, 82, of Kittanning died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 19, 1934, in Kittanning to Lorenzo “Frank” & Frances (Grey) Brumbaugh.

Schrecengost formerly worked at Big River Manufacture and MTW in Kittanning.

She was a member of Kittanning Free Methodist Church where she faithfully attended prayer meeting and God’s Choice ministry within the church.

Schrecengost enjoyed reading, flower gardening, walking and singing.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (James) Gallaher of Kittanning; a granddaughter, Angela (Jason) Claypoole; a grandson, Brian Gallaher (girlfriend Autumn); two great granddaughters, Morgan Hrabczuk and Taylor Claypoole; a great grandson, Aden Claypoole; a brother, Ronald Brumbaugh (Sandy) of Kittanning; and four sisters: Helen Cravener of Kittanning, Virginia Bowser (Corbin) of Kittanning, Flo Bowser (Robert) of Kittanning and Kathy Hamrick (Glenn) of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald R. Schrecengost on Sept. 16, 2012; a son, Tom Schrecengost; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; three grandsons, Eric, Joel and Keith; a sister, Beulah Bleggi; and two brothers, Harry Brumbaugh and Michael Brumbaugh.

Friends of Schrecengost will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning with the Rev. Harold Haire and the Rev. Dr. Wayne Sawyer co-officiating in Salem (Hills) Church Cemetery.
