William "Bill" F. Brown, 74, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Chambers Cemetery with the Rev. Nolen Lake of the Living Word Church officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Sept. 30, 1932, in Henryetta, he was the son of William and Beulah M. Chapman Brown. In the 50s he entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean War until he received his honorable discharge.

He married Angeline Porter on June 17, 1963, in Neosha, Mo. He was a truck driver for more than 30 years. He retired from Consolidated Freightways as a driver and then moved back to McAlester upon his retirement.

Survivors include three sisters, Juanita Gregson, of McAlester, Nancy M. Brown, Longmount, Colo., and Corine McMahan and husband, Max, of Moore; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Brown, of McAlester.

Also, numerous nieces and nephews including, Rodney Brown and wife, Jill, Gainesville, Texas, Robert Brown, of Savanna, Keith Brown, of McAlester, Billy Bob Brown and wife, Twila, of McAlester, Janet Frederick and husband, Bob, of Stuart, and Terry Taylor, of Stuart.

And, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews including, Justin Brown, of Tulsa, Levi Brown, of McAlester, Michael Brown, of McAlester, and Bailey and Ashley Brown, Gainesville, Texas, and special friends, Jerry Starkweather and wife, Linda, Joplin, Mo., and Carol Beals, of Tahlequah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beulah Brown; his wife, Angeline Brown; a brother, Bobby Gene Brown, and three sisters, Irene Hamilton, Pauline McCray and Geneva Maggio.
