Donald was born in Owensville on April 13, 1931 to the late Edward and Rosa (Schlottag) Koepke. He was married to Delores Stranghoener on April 26, 1952 at Owensville. Donald was a member of St. John's UCC at Bem, MO. He served his country in the United States Marines. He was a member of VFW Post 6133 in Owensville, American Legion in Rosebud, and a loyal St. Louis Cardinal's fan. He worked as a molder in shoe manufacturing. Donald also delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years for the Owensville Senior Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rosa Koepke; his wife, Delores Koepke; two brothers, Otto and Chester Koepke; and two sisters, Alma Glaser and Clara Idel.
His survivors include three daughters; Debbie Birke and husband John of Beaufort, MO, Cindy Wools and husband Danny of Cuba, MO, and Pam Crider and husband Terry of Owensville; and two sons, Richard Koepke and wife Pam of Sedalia, MO and Ricky and wife Joyce of Kokomo, IN., nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Rick Oberle officiating. Burial will be at St. John's UCC Cemetery at Bem. Visitation will be 9 to 11 AM Monday, March 20 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with a VFW service at 10:45 AM.
