Viola Pansey Adkins (Walton) Addington was born in Indian Territory Atoka Oklahoma, on August 19, 1905, to William and Mary Adkins. Viola was the second of two children born to this couple, the first being Molly Olga Adkins in 1899. Viola never knew her Father William, as he died on the 30th of August 1905. Mary was later wedded to Robert Mills Walton; together the couple parented an additional four children. Sadly, Molly Olga was unknown to the family until recently. At the time of this writing, it is believed that Molly may have been raised by William's family in Texas.

Viola was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was tirelessly devoted to her family and loved cooking for large family gatherings. Married to Marron James Addington (JM) for more than 55 years, they parented six children.

Viola’s final prayer was answered when you joined our Lord and Savior on March 1, 1994. She had been a resident of the Purcell Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents William Adkins, and Mary E. (Wright) Adkins/Walton, her husband J. M. Addington, two sons Douglas E. Addington and Kenneth Addington. She is survived by three daughters, Marie Farris of Boise City Oklahoma, Stella Peoples of Konawa Oklahoma, and Linda Arnold of Spartanburg South Carolina, one son Sterling Neil Addington of Konawa, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by one sister Charlene (Walton) Morgan of Chickasha Oklahoma, and two brothers; Ross M. Walton of Chickasha Oklahoma, and Ralph Walton of Roswell New Mexico.
