EATON--Cleva Turner Benner, 96, died Thursday in Willowbend Living Center, Muncie, after a long illness.
She was born Nov. 8, 1905, in Randolph County, and had lived in Eaton for 50 years before she moved to Muncie in 1995.
Mrs. Benner had worked at Jeffries Jewelry Store and at Pitman Funeral Home, both of Eaton. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Eaton, where she was a deaconess. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and Eaton War Mothers, Eaton Senior Citizens and Eaton Home Economics Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Lamm (husband: Gayle), Muncie; a son, John Turner, Morton, Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Rust, Fountain City, Vera Rieber, Parker City, and Elizabeth Hamilton (husband: Robert), Hartford City; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Torra Mae Driver Fodrea; two sons, Richard and Robert Turner; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, Eaton, with Rev. Glenn Barrett officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory. Friends may call 3 to 7 p.m. and an hour before services Monday at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, Eaton.
