Funeral service for Barbara McKnight, 71, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Family Life Church in Cyril with Pastor Donnie Miller, officiating. Burial will follow at the Celestial Gardens under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. McKnight passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 surrounded by her family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 71.
Barbara A. (Fletcher) McKnight was born April 6, 1945 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to David Sr. and Margaret (Sawyer) Fletcher. She graduated from Cache High School in 1963. Barbara married Steven Romriell I and the two moved to Sacramento, CA where he was stationed in the Air Force. Together the two had a son, Steven Romriell II. They moved to San Diego where Barbara worked in a VA Hospital. She married Gregory McKnight on December 16, 1991 in Virginia, Minnesota. In 1992, the couple moved to Cyril where they have made their home for the last 25 years. Barbara enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens. When her health no longer allowed her to work outside, she began doing genealogy and photography.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory “Mac” McKnight, of the home; 1 son, Steven Romriell II and his wife Kris, of CA; 1 stepdaughter, Heather McKnight, of Cyril; 3 brothers: Clarence Brinkley and his wife Bernice, of Haywood, Freddy Fletcher and his wife Debbie, of Cache, and David Fletcher Jr. and his wife Gayla, of Duncan; 1 sister, Debra Chandler and her husband Cecil, of Lawton; 4 grandchildren: Melissa Villatoro and her husband Carlos, Jason Romriell, and Tyler and Gabrielle Rowe; 1 great grandson, Finn Villatoro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: David Sr. and Margaret Fletcher.
