Julius P. Ritchey, the son of Joseph and Lucinda Ritchey, married Martha E. Lutz January 12, 1881 in Catawba Co., NC.

Martha was the daughter of D.A. Lutz and Mary Ann Little.


After Martha's death Julius married Ada Rhoney Feb. 20, 1916 in Lincoln Co., NC. Ada was the daughter of John Jacob Rhoney and Eliza Jane Huffman.


J.P. RITCHIE'S ILLNESS FATAL


Julius Pinkney Ritchie, eighty-two, retired farmer of Vale, Route Three, died at his home at 10:15 o'clock Wednesday night following a long illness.


Funeral services will be conducted at Palm Tree Methodist Church in the Vale section at 2:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Mr. Greene and Rev. Mr. Brindle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Mr. Ritchie, a native of Catawba County is survived by his widow, the former Miss Ada Rhoney; five daughters, Mrs. W.C. Johnson, Vale, Mrs. A.A. Pryor, Mt. Holly, Mrs. W.A. Reinhardt, Manatee, Fla., Mrs. C.E. Anthony, Vale, and Mrs. L.A. Mosteller of Hildebran: one son, J.E. Ritchie, Belmont; two sisters, Mrs. Samantha Lynn, Salisbury and Mrs. Matt Mitchell, Lincolnton; one brother, Mark Ritchie, Stanley Creek; 22 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.


He was a member of Palm Tree Methodist Church.
