Harry C. Lombard was a son of David Edward and Lena (Youker) Lombard.

Harry C. Lombard was first married to Edna Pugh who died only a few weeks after the birth of their only daughter, Melba.

Harry C. Lombard married again to Lela Fairchild and the couple had one son, Col. Harold Lombard, now deceased.

Harry and Lela (AKA Leila) were veteran Chautauqua circuit performers as well as well-known Chicago radio entertainers during the 1920's. Before their marriage, Harry Lombard had been a baritone with the English Opera Company.

Harry and Lela Lombard also entertained during both WWI and WWII.

"Early Radio Entertainer Dead at 74"

Harry Lombard, 74, formerly of Chicago, a veteran radio entertainer, died yesterday at his home in Beloit, Wis. He took part in the midwest's first experimental television broadcast in 1927.

Lombard and his wife, Leila, worked as an entertainment team after their marrige in 1917. Before his marriage, Lombard had been a baritone with the English Opera Company.

In Word War I, the Lombards appeared in every military camp in the country, and in World War II, Lombard was a director for the U.S.O.
