Martha Elizabeth DeFriese Coffey, 92, was released from her earthly bonds on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born on February 21, 1922 she was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga Area and a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church. Martha retired from TVA in 1985 after 33 years in power accounting. She will be remembered as a loving, good natured, hard-working individual whose perseverance was to be admired. Always a fair person, a giver and a positive influence, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Kate Igou DeFriese, husband, Charles S. Coffey and brother, Jimmie (Estelle) DeFriese.
