Caddie R. Gage Lance, age 93, Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. She was born in Bakersville, North Carolina and lived most of her life in Erwin. Mrs. Lance was a daughter of the late John and Mattie Young Gage. She was a former employee of Southern Pottery and retired from Hoover Ball in 1986 where she was employed for twenty-one years as an Inspector. Mrs. Lance was a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church and Erwin Order of Eastern Star #29. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Paul Lance on September 28, 2000; three brothers and four sisters.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one son, Fred Lance and wife, Kathy; two granddaughters: Emily L. Goepel and husband, Jason, Chelsey Lance, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive, including a devoted nephew, J. C. Gage and wife, Kate of Johnson City; special friend, Debbie Adcock.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. until the hour of service on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Noah Taylor will officiate at the 7:00 P. M. funeral service. Music will be provided by Gage and Laws Quartet. A private committal service will be held on Saturday in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Governor's Bend and Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in memory of Mrs. Lance to: Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 910 Hoback Street, Erwin, TN 37650.
