She graduated from Halstead School of Nursing in 1944, and immediately enlisted in the US Army Corps of Nurses. While serving at General Torney Hospital in Palm Springs, she met her future husband, a patient in her ward.
After leaving the Army, Jean worked as a Supervising Nurse in the ER at Eden Hospital, in Castro Valley for 25 years, until her retirement in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Douglas Green, and her husband. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anita C. Breeze and Doris Rowe, and brother, Robert Breeze.
Jean enjoyed camping, boating and RV touring with her son and husband. She and Lloyd crisscrossed the country many times in their 5th Wheel. She enjoyed cruising the Panama Canal, Alaska and Caribbean.
Jean is survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce Green; brother-in-law, Melvin “Skeet” Green; her niece, Ann Brown; her nephews, Jim Rowe, Gregory Sanchez, David Green, Steve Green; her grandsons, Kevin and Michael; and 2 great grandchildren.
Viewing and Service will be held at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield, beginning at 10:00am Tuesday, March 21. Reception follows at the Club House at Paradise Valley Golf Course. Burial will be at San Jaoquin Valley National Cemetery on March 23rd.
