FATAL ACCIDENT to a SOLDIER - On Sunday evening, as the Arrow was steaming up the Sacramento, Corporal Charles H. EMERY, of Captain GORMAN's cavalry company, fell overboard and was drowned in spite of every effort to save him. He had been sick and at the time of the accident wore an overcoat, which prevented his swimming. Deceased was a native of Waterville, Maine, aged 37 years.

BODY FOUND - The body of Charles H. EMERY, a corporal of Capt. GORMAN's company, who was drowned in the Sacramento river by falling from the deck of the steamer Arrow while making the passage from this city, has been recovered and buried with military honors by the company of which he was a member. The body was found about 20 miles below the place where the fatal accident occurred, its appearance indicating that it had been struck by the wheel. The deceased was a native of Fairfield, Maine, and enlisted in Capt. GORMAN's company, from Calaveras county.
