News was received here, Thursday, of the death of Mr. Samuel Linton Barrow, which occurred at Shreveport on Wednesday at midnight, following an illness of several weeks. As this paper goes to press arrangements are being made to hold the funeral at Beaumont, Texas, on Friday. Mr. Barrow, who was 72 years of age, was the youngest son of the late Col. and Mrs. Robert H. Barrow of this parish, and was born on Rosedale plantation. Although he left the parish when quite a young man, he never lost interest in the old home and made frequent visits here. He was an enthusiastic subscriber to the Democrat through which he maintained contact with scenes and friends of his boyhood. Mr. Barrow was married to Mrs. Jessie Plummer Roland in Beaumont, Texas, about twenty-two years ago. Mr. Barrow had made his home in Beaumont for several years previous to this time. For the last 18 years he had been in business in Shreveport. Through her husband's associations, Mrs. Barrow readily formed a strong attachment for West Feliciana parish and her people. Mr. Barrow was prominent in business and civic affairs in Shreveport and both he and Mrs. Barrow have many friends that city. There is a large family connection in West Feliciana and other portions of Louisiana.
