On Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017, Vonnie walked into the arms of Jesus. Vonnie (Dyke) Beelen, age 90, was born in Holland, to John and Henrietta Dyke.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Howard Beelen; children, Jim and Pat Beelen, Bob and Sue Beelen, Judy and Mark Dykema, Cindy and Ron Borst; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren (and 1 on the way); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken and Aggie Beelen, Marv Beelen, Milt and Mary Beelen, Thelma Pelon.

Vonnie and Howard enjoyed many years of volunteer work at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds and with CRWRC (World Renew) where great friendships were formed. She had the gift of hospitality and welcomed many people to her Sunday dinner table. Vonnie felt a calling to send cards to people to let them know they were being thought of. Her smile and teasing brought joy to the staff at the Christian Rest Home the last two years of her life.

A service to celebrate Vonnie's life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Second Church, 6950 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, with Rev. Harold Veldman officiating. Interment will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Second Church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds or World Renew.
