An obituary published in The Gadsden Times, Gadsden, Alabama, Tuesday, December 19, 2000, page 8: ROBERT HAYDEN KING, SR. , native of Gadsden, beloved husband of the late Elsie Black King and son of the late John Argyle King, Sr. and Lila Baker King of Gadsden, died Sunday, December 17, 2000 at 9:10 p.m. at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Gadsden High School, University of Alabama in 1943 and University of Alabama Law School in 1948. He is survived by children and their families. Mr. King was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Gadsden. Funeral service at First Presbyterian Church and burial in Forrest Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II. Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (this is a very lengthy obituary with many accomplishments including his service for 52 years with Boy Scouts.)
