Marian Hayes was born in Colorado, a daughter of William Clune 1855–1925 and Mary Agnes Mitchell. She had siblings Helen ~1893–?, James William, Catherine "Kathleen" Frances 1897–1989, Ethel, William, Jr. 1900–1910, Arthur E., Edward 1904–1956, Dorothy, Austin 1909–1987, Shirley Bassett Beryl 1912–1987 and Franklin "Frank" M. 1913-1974.

Her family lived in Leadville, Colorado starting in about 1890 where her father was a grocer and by 1920 owned a wholesale feed store. By 1930 William had died and her mother Mary was a school superintendent in Leadville.

By 1940 Marian, her mother and five of her siblings had moved to Los Angeles, California. Marian was a librarian.

She married Mr. Hayes. No information could be found on him.

Marian and her sister Ethel eventually retired to Sun City, around 1970.

No other information could be found on her life.

She apparently had no immediate family survivors and was the last of the large Clune family, surviving her sister Ethel by two months.
