Resident of Nevada Dies Friday Evening
Mrs. Melissa Rosie Starner passed into the sleep of death at her home in Nevada, Friday evening at 8:15 o'clock. Her death was caused by injuries and shock received Thesday afternoon when she fell breaking her hip and arm.
Mrs. Starner's maiden name was Melissa Rosie Mauer. She was born in Crawford county February 17, 1867. Her father died many years ago and her mother, Mary (Seichnor) Mauer, who is now deceased later married George Beard. June 17 1886 she was married to Edward Starner. June 17, 1938, she celebrated her golden wedding anniversary. Eight children survive; Mrs. C.C. Clinger, of near Nevada; Mrs. Clyd Trout, of Bucyrus; Howard L. Starner, of Barscow, Calif.; Mrs. C.R. Couts of Marion; Mrs. O.D. Colter, of Lima; R.E. Starner, of Morral; Mrs. E.A. Thurston, of San Bernardino,
Calif., and Robert Starner, of Nevada. Twentytwo grandchildren and one great-grandchid are living. One brother, Frank Mauer, of Lorain, and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Layman, of Nevada, and Mrs. W.H. MacHenry, of Mt. Zion, remain. Mrs. Starner was a membber of the Nevada Lutheran church.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends may call at any hour to see the body. Intermant will be made in the Nevada cemetery.
