Carl W. Clemens, 92, who resided at The Waters of Johnson City, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Born in 1925 in Dumont, IA, he was the son of the late Jesse A. Clemens and Gladys Ann (Bailey) Clemens Lewis. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1942-1947 and worked in the dairy industry for over 40 years, 25 of which as creamery manager for Fern Creamery in Parkersburg, IA.

He married his high school sweetheart, Lucille, on August 15, 1946, and they began their journey which included living in Iowa communities of Shell Rock, Fern, and Cedar Falls; West Bend, WI; Horseshoe Bend, AR; Harlingen, TX and then settled in Johnson City, TN in 2010.

In high school, Carl played football, basketball, and baseball, which he enjoyed throughout his life, as well as fishing, bird watching, gardening, and any and all outdoor activities.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille, who passed away in 2013, his step-father, Jack Lewis, sister, LaVonne Craun, brother, Dallas Clemens, and son, Brian Warren Clemens.

The family will gather to meet friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM, until the memorial service hour beginning at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City, TN with Reverend Michael Lester officiating.
