Passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Dean was born August 28, 1934 in South Haven, the son of William and Elenor Abbott and had lived his entire life in the Bangor area. He had been an underhand fast pitch softball pitcher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the log cabin he built in Baldwin. Dean was a 1952 graduate of Bangor Schools and retired from South Haven Rubber Company. Surviving is his significant other Roseann Webster and her son Scott; 3 sons, Rodney, Richard and Randy; several grand and great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ellen, Buck, Joyce, Keith and Pete; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Jack, Lawrence and Charles Kent and a sister, Jane. The family will meet friends on Monday from noon until time of funeral services at 1PM at the BANGOR CHAPEL, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, Pastor Harold Filbrandt officiating. Interment will follow in Monks Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com
