George E. Houghton, 73, of 109 Farm Street, drowned in a boating accident on Cayuga Lake. Alvah Terry also lost his life.

Mr. Houghton was born in Lodi July 9, 1879, the son of Peter A. Houghton and Phedora Baker Houghton. He was single.

Mr. Houghton owned the Pen and Camera Shop and was a member of the DeWitt Historical Society, among many other organizations.

He is survived by two sisters, Miss Alice Houghton and Mrs. Richard C. Warren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leeta Houghton and Mrs. Gladys B. Houghton, all of Ithaca.
