Sgt. Steven Steiner was killed instantly in a motorcycle crash. According to the police report, Steven was attempting to pass a car on his way home from his base at Hardt Kaserne when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a brick wall at Heubach-Buch.

Steven was born and raised in Saline. He graduated from Saline High School in 1979 and enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
His work in the Army was in drug and alcohol rehabilitation of U.S. servicemen. He had been rapidly promoted to E5 rank during his time overseas.
