SPLUNGE - Hazel Ewing Mays, 91, died Jan. 25, 2007, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Services are today at 1:30 p.m. at Splunge Missionary Baptist Church with Louis Coker officiating. Burial will follow at Lann Cemetery. Visitation will continue until 11:30 a.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Mrs. Mays was born Dec. 3, 1915, to the late T.E. and Sara Ella Johnson Faulkner. She was a lifelong resident of the Splunge Community. She was a homemaker and a supporter of RCDC and the Splunge Fire Department. She was a member of the Splunge Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Mays; brother, Elvin Faulkner; and sisters, Elmris Harris, Elaine Boozer and Alene and Vivian Faulkner. She is survived by her sons, Sherman Wayne and Herman Lane Mays, both of Splunge; one grandchild; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jolly, Terry and Barry Faulkner, Ronnie Boozer and Rex and Justin Presley.
