Lora Jean Porter, age 87, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Fayetteville.

She was born January 14, 1930 in Ordway, Colorado to Joseph Rudolf and Ruby Catherime (Shaffer) Zimmerman.

Her family moved to Brentwood, Arkansas from Ordway, Colorado in 1945. Lora Jean attended Brentwood Community School through 8th grade and graduated from West Fork High School in 1948.

She was a member of West Fork Church of Christ and Center Street Church of Christ.

Lora Jean was a well-known seamstress who owned her own custom drapery business. She made draperies for many prominent people through out Northwest Arkansas.

Lora Jean is survived by her husband, Leon Porter of the home; sons, Ronnie Porter (and wife, Sheri) of Springdale, Randy Porter of Springdale and Rusty Porter (and wife, Stella) of Hot Springs; daughter, Gail Ingalls (and husband, Ken) of West Fork; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Beard's Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at Beard's Chapel.

Interment will follow in Brentwood Cemetery.
