Virlandia “Jean” Strickler, age 84, of Bloomington, formerly of Worthington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4 at Johnson Christian Village in Bedford.
She was born in Hadley, Ind. on May 16, 1932, the daughter of Tilman Crites and Dorthus (Hunter) Crites.
Jean worked at RCA and The Uniform Shop, both in Bloomington, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Karla (Brian) Farnsley of Bloomington; a son, Kevin (Joyce) Strickler of Bloomington; brother, William (Martha) Crites of Worthington; grandchildren, James (Elise) McIntire, Cody Strickler and Kirbee (Jay) Gerkin; and her great-grandchildren, Dahlia, Madelynn, Cecilia, Gaines and twins Harper and Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold Isaac Strickler; her twin sister, Virginia June Martindale-Cearing and her brother, Rexall Crites.
Graveside service will be held at Worthington Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 with Dr. Jack Schmit officiating.
