Alta Mae Sheffield, 94, of Perry, Missouri passed away at 1:14 AM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

Alta was born November 11, 1922, in Hull, Illinois to Lawrence and Myrtle Anderson O'Brien.

She was married to Elmo Sheffield on February 12, 1944. He preceded her in death April 25, 2010.

Survivors include 4 children, Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alta was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, 1 daughter in law, Sharon Sheffield and one grandson, Steven Sheffield.

Alta was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers and her vegetables. She was an avid reader and she liked do puzzles. She also liked dancing and boating. Alta was a Baptist by faith.Obituary for Alta Mae Sheffield

Graveside Services and Burial will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Pastor Donna Scott will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
