Maizie “Midgie” Mae Stanley Ruger, a lifelong resident of New Windsor, entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2015 in Old Forge, PA. She was 61.
The daughter of the late William B. and Ida Louise (Williams) Stanley, she was born August 26, 1953 in Milford, CT. She married her husband Alfred Ruger Sr. on February 14, 2002 in Newburgh, NY.
"My mother was a woman who didn't know her own worth. She saw the best of everything and made the best out of what she had. She raised us 3 children on her own - my older brother Eddie, my sister Vicky, and me, Richard, the youngest. She showed us the love of the Lord and how He is all we have. She will always be remembered for being a humble loving woman who had never thrown a stone at anyone unless one was thrown first. She saw the best in everyone she met. There are no words to express how we feel about my mother. She always was there and NEVER turned away. She would face any situation head on..I mean come on - how many women nowadays can do what she did all by herself? This is just a small piece of what my mother was ..there is not enough paper in the world to explain how awesome she was. So here's to you mom - your the epitome of a woman and the love that can't be replaced, only until we see you again and can feel your touch will we be able to be whole hearted once more".
She is survived by her husband, Alfred; her children: Edward and Lynn Wells of Mountain Top, PA, Victoria and Matthew Kuhns of Latrobe, PA, and Richard and Marissa Cooper of Old Forge, PA; her siblings: Levi and Jeanne Stanley of Wellsburg, NY, John and Maryann Stanley of Marion, CT, and Gary and Gladys Stanley of Wallingford, CT; her grandchildren: Priscilla, Paris, Richard, Ida Fay, Susie Taylor, Leddi London, Maizie, Ezra, Raquel, Victoria, Eddie, Scarlett and Andy; her nieces and nephews: Levi, Billy, Eric, Candy, Mike, Jessie, Jobe, Betsy, Jason, Gary, David, Tempey, Maizie, Reilly, John, Vashti, Mark, and John; 8 great-grandchildren and 24 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her grandmother Macy Stanley, her brother Noah “Ducci” Williams, sister Ida Stanley, and brother Noah Stanley.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 5 from 4-8 pm, and on Saturday June 6 from 12-3 and 5-9 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh. A service will be held at 10 am on Sunday June 7 at Brooks Funeral Home, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
