I am ATTACHING a screenshot of a BOOK in the Historical Society of PA Library that is about:
THOMAS & MARY DAVIS BANKS & THEIR FAMILY OF KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, VIRGINIA. It discusses their family & their holdings.

BETTY'S PARENTS:
~ "Thomas Banks (1682 VA--1754 VA) &
~ "Mary Davis" (1685 VA--1756 VA).

BETTY'S PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS:
THOMAS was the son of:
~"William Bankes" (1643--1709 VA) &
~ "Mary Tunstall" (1663 VA--1709 VA).
They married in 1680 @ Bedford Co., VA.
Their Children:
~Thomas (1682 VA--1754 VA).
~ Ralph (1684 VA--1735 VA).
~ William (1685 VA--1748).
~ James, Sr. (1687 VA--1733).
-------------------------
Alot has been written about "William Bankes b: 1643" @ Corfe Castle, Dorset, Eng....BUT...There is a plaque from 1661 in the St. Martin of Tours Church @ Ruislip, Greater London. This is where his supposed mother, "Lady Mary Hawtrey Bankes (1598-1661)", is buried in the Churchyard. The plaque states the "names of her 4 sons" & lists "6 daughters" (no names listed for them).
• By "William it says: since dead w/out issue".•
So, this could Not be our William's mother...nor could his father be "Sir John Bankes" (1589--1644). That is unless his older brother Ralph who placed the plaque for his mother's remembrance hated his younger brother William & spitefully listed him as dead. Ralph was the heir to the Bankes fortune/land which he later regained thru his close alliance w/King Charles II. Ralph built Kingston Lacy manor house while the ruins of the medieval Corfe Castle [which was severely damaged during The First English Civil War (1642-1646)] still stand today.
--------------------------
I found records from "King and Queen Co., VA, Chap. XLV" where Father "William Bankes" (1643--1709 VA) died; & on Nov. 10, 1709, his 2nd son, Ralph Bankes (1684 VA--1735 VA), was his heir (leaving out older son Thomas) & w/Ralph also stating that his own son William would be his heir when the time came. It was concerning 1,200 acres & a water grist mill on land in King and Queen County, VA which was termed by 3 names: Land Dividend, Home Dividend, & Mantapike Plantation.
--------------------------
DNA pages state the descendants of "William Bankes b: 1643 of King and Queen Co., VA" are closely related to the descendants of "Richard Bankes b: 1607-09 of Alkham Co., Kent, & migrated to York Co., Maine".
------------------------
Some researchers attach "Mary Davis" to Ralph...others to Thomas. It says that "Mary Davis was the wife of Thomas Banks" according to that book (in the screenshot that I attached).
