Mary Jo Chambers, 82, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on February 10, 2016, at her home.

She was born on May 31, 1933, in Rowlesburg, WV, daughter of the late John and Etta DeWitt Ashenfelter.

Mary enjoyed quilting, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She was a foster grandparent at Henry J. Kaiser Elementary School for nearly 20 years. She was an awesome mother who was happiest when she was with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Steven “Scott” Chambers, and Jay Paul Chambers and his wife Connie, all of Ravenswood; step grandchildren, William “Bill” Pifer, Ravenswood, and Jennifer Snell and husband Chris, Belleville, WV; a step great granddaughter, Olivia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard “Pete” Chambers; son, Mark Chambers; and two brothers, John Ashenfelter and Howard Ashenfelter.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 12:00 pm at Ravenswood Cemetery with Pastor Don Maxson officiating.
