The Southern Illinoisan, Monday, April 21, 1997 MULKEYTOWN - George A. Hart, 90, of 2063 Olive, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 1997, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with brother Larry Cook officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Mulkeytown. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. to-day at the funeral home. Mr. Hart was retired from Majestic coal mines in Du Quoin. He was a member of the Bear Point Church in Sesser and the UMWA. He was born May 27, 1906, in Tilden, to George and May Ann (Smith) Hart. He married Audrey Malone. She survives. Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George D. and Mildred Hart of Oakman, Ala.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Gene Lewis of Benton; and two grandchildren, Gene Hart Lewis of New York and Todd Hart Lewis of Carbondale. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
