Mrs. Prevette was born September 28, 1914 in Wilkes County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Jane Absher Burgess and Roby Harrison Burgess. She attended Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Charlotte. Grace enjoyed gardening and walking through the neighborhood. She loved spending time with her entire family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Wade Houck, Burl Barkley, Marvin Wilson and Worth Prevette; brother, Arthur Burgess; and three sisters, Geneva, Ora and Della.
