Roy E Horsfall
Roy Eugene Horsfall, son of Joseph and Celia Mansell Horsfall, was born in Millville, Wis., on October 6, 1880, and passed away at the Lancaster Memorial Hospital on April 7, 1963.
He was united in marriage to Mary Pearl Ball on June 19, 1907. Mrs. Horsfall passed away on March 12, 1998. Mr. Horsfall spent most of his life in the Patch Grove-Blo-omington area, where he engaged in farming for several years and later in carpentry.
He is survived by 10 children: David Horsfall, Cleveland, Ohio; Ralph Horsfall, Verona, Wis.; Grace (Mrs, Judson Marin), Pikeville, Ky.; Marian (Mrs. Paul Marion), Madison, Wis.; Margaret (Mrs. L.H. Taft), Providence, R.I.; Lela (Mrs. Robert L. Johnson), Dickinson, ND; James, Madison; Robert, Prairie du Chien; Calvin, Bloomington; Paul, Decorah, Iowa. Also surviving are two brothers: Hugh Horsfall, Bloomington; and J. Ora Horsfall, Deadwood, SD; 19 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Two sons preceded him in death: Harold, in 1937, and Clarence Leroy in 1916.
Mr. and Mrs. Horsfall celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1957.
Funeral services were held at the Bloomington Methodist Church at 2 pm Wednesday, April 10, 1963, with the Rev. David Fuller as pastor and Mrs. Marie Gates as organist. Casket bearers were: Henry Webb, Robert Kottke, Herman Kruse, Alex Osterhaus, Keith Chapman, and Allan Martin. Interment was made in the Bloomington Cemetery beside his wife. Pearl. The Bloomington WSCS provided lunch for friends and relatives after the graveside rites.
