Barbara Jean Webb, age 82, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away at her home on Wednesday evening, March 1, 2017. Barbara was born on July 15, 1934 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Thomas J. and Edith M. (Gillespey) Wallace; and was a direct descendant of the Journeycake family of the Delaware Indians. At 3 months of age, she moved to Nowata, Oklahoma where she attended school, and was a member of The Rainbow Girls, The Commercial Club, The FHA, the junior high basketball team, and the fife and drum corp. She graduated from the Nowata High School class of 1952 and then attended the Bartlesville Oklahoma Business College. She worked at the Hickory House Cafe, and Wallace Cafe in Nowata; and at Continental Can in Coffeyville, where she then owned and operated J.T Industries. She was a member of the Continental Can Womens golf and bowling teams, and belonged to the Lamar Beta Sigma Phi Sorority . In 1960 she married Luther R Webb at Nowata and they were married for 56 years. Survivors include her husband; sons, James R. Webb (wife Shawna), and Thomas R. Webb; grandson, Christopher T. Webb; and sister, Martha L. Brown.
