Those left to remember Robert S. Forbes are his wife, Carolyn Hensley of the home; two daughters, Debi Mills and Susie Roberts and husband John, all of Marion; four sisters, Shirley Marshall and husband Paul of Hanover, PA, Linda Franklin of Fernandina Beach, FL, Brenda Pitman and husband Eddie of Spruce Pine, and Virginia Pitman and husband Danny of Spruce Pine; six grandchildren, Leigh, Carrie, Paige, Alex, Cody and Owen; and four great-grandchildren, G3, Donovan, Brandon and Michael.
A proud native of Mitchell County, R.S. was born on May 15, 1951 to the late Stanley Forbes and Ethel Buchanan Forbes, one of fourteen children. He was retired as a supervisor with Suitt Construction Co. out of Greenville, SC. A devoted member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, he served his Lord there in many capacities over the years.
Loved by many and respected by all who knew this gracious and benevolent man, he will be deeply missed.
