The Southern Illinoisan, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 MULKEYTOWN - Audrey Louise Hart, 95, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, in Helia Healthcare in Benton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Larry Cook officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Mulkeytown. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations can be made to Bear Point Freewill Baptist Church in Sesser or Rend Lake College Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home. Mrs. Hart worked in the Garment Factory in Du Quoin and Pinckneyville, retiring in 1976, and was a member of Bear Point Freewill Baptist Church. She was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Benton to Hiley H. and Emily (Dempsey) Malone. She married George A. Hart on June 7, 1931, in her parents' house north of Mulkeytown; he preceded her in death April 18, 1997. Survivors include her children, George D. and Mildred Hart of Oakman, Ala., and Mary Ann Lewis of Benton; two grandchildren, Gene Hart and Rehana Lewis of New Jersey and Todd Lewis of St. Louis; a brother, Charles Vernon and Hilda Malone of New Castle, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and their wives, Dempsey "Jack" and wife, Clara Malone, Wallace and wife, Eunice Malone, and SI "LaVein" and wife, Eathel Malone; and son-in-law, Gene Lewis.
