Barbara Connell Sims, 79, of Tallahassee died Monday, February 27, 2017 in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services at Sale City Baptist Church with interment in Sale City Cemetery. Born July 15, 1937 in Colquitt County, GA, Mrs. Sims was the daughter of the late Carl Cecil Connell and Eula Mae Brown Connell. She was married to the late Bob Sims. Mrs. Sims was a member of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alma Mims and brother, Earl Connell. Survivors include two sons, Keith Thompson of Lithia Springs and Shane Thompson (Janet) of Shell Point; two daughters, Deborah Thompson of Ashtabula, Ohio and Donna Schilling of Tallahassee ; six sisters, Helen Cutchens, Abbeville, AL, Dot Tomberlin of Cooksville, TN, Vera Johnston of Lynn Haven, FL, Laverne Pope of Nashville, TN, Mary Alice King of Naples, FL and Judy Pless of Cordele; two brothers, Bill Connell of Albany and Gene Connell of Sale City; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
