FORT WORTH - William A. Oxsheer, 83, a retired Texas Electric foreman, died Thursday at home.

Graveside service: 1 p.m. today in Greenwood Memorial Park. Officiating: Monsignor Charles King.

Memorials: Child Study Center, 1300 W. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth 76102.

Mr. Oxsheer was born July 6, 1912, in Fort Worth, where he was a lifelong resident.

He retired in 1977 from Texas Electric Service Co. after 37 years.

Mr. Oxsheer was a member of a pioneer family and the book The Forgotten Cattle King, written in 1986, was about the ranching experiences of his grandfather.

Survivors: Wife, Thelma Oxsheer of Fort Worth; son, William Wilson Oxsheer of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Rene Cote of Fort Worth; and granddaughter, Mary Margaret Cote.
