Born 30 November 1857 in Bureau county, Illinois. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Pool. Her father, a real estate investor, died in 1891.

In January of 1887 Thomas Scott Baldwin gave his first parachute demonstration in San Francisco, California. Before then, he performed as a tightrope walker. On 4 July 1887 he demonstrated the parachute again in Quincy, Illinois. He traveled doing exhibitions and aeronautic feats. He settled in Quincy, Illinois. There, he married Caroline Pool, 7 December 1887.

Thomas S. Baldwin purchased fair grounds in Quincy and named it Baldwin Field. He continued to travel with his aeronautics performances. He performed at the royal courts in Europe. His wife, Caroline Baldwin, accompanied him. He returned to Quincy to work on a dirigible and then the Baldwins toured the world again. While home in Quincy, he gave exhibitions at Baldwin Field. The couple resided at Baldwin Park in Quincy and invested in local real estate.

Mrs. Baldwin also bought land in Browning, Missouri. In the later years of her life Mrs. Baldwin spent time there and at spas in the south. Caroline Baldwin passed away 4 October 1926 at her home in Baldwin Park, Quincy, Illinois. Her husband Thomas S. Baldwin predeceased her, 17 May 1923 in Buffalo, New York. Left to mourn was one son, Thomas A. Baldwin; and two grandchildren.

Reverend Harry L. Meyer led services held at the Baldwin family residence in Baldwin Park, Quincy Illinois. He was pastor of the Congregational church in Quincy. Mrs. Harold Suman, and Mrs. Frank Bird, sang. Interment was at Woodland cemetery in Quincy.
