Barbara Brummond
Barbara Lee Brummond, 56, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at a local hospital due to cancer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Boes of St. Boniface Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brummond was born July 4, 1940, at Sioux City to Darrel and Joyce (Tetter) Brenon. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1958, and was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. She married James Brummond Feb. 7, 1959, at Sioux City. She was a full time housewife.
She was involved in the Urban Renewal Program, Pack Committee. She was a boy and girl scout leader and was a member of the CAST Program along with various other community organizations.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Jerry and Diane of Sioux City, and Pat and Kathy of Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter and her husband, Jackie and Scott Barber of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Sharron Soul and her husband Frank Lagana of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Josh, Jennifer, Rachel and Mary Kate; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jeromy.
