Linda A. (Ponte) Medeiros age 57 of East Freetown, passed away on Thursday February 23, 2017 at home following a long illness. She was the wife of David T. Medeiros, Jr. with whom she shared 31 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Manuel V. Ponte and Alice (Keene) Paradise, she was raised in Fall River and lived in Rochester before moving to East Freetown in 1999.
She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and attended Bristol Community College.
Mrs. Medeiros was an Assistant Director at Lifestream for 22 years. Linda considered Lifestream her second family.
Linda loved spending time at the beach, vacationing with her husband and the company of her loving family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Sean Travis, Katie Medeiros and David Medeiros and wife Kristine; a step-son, Les Pittsley and wife Katie; two brothers, Matthew and Daniel Paradise; a sister, Brenda Medeiros; six grandchildren, Sean Travis, Jr., David Medeiros, Jr., Kaleb Reynolds, John Medeiros, Kempton and Amber Pittsley; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John Travis and sister of the late Robert Paradise.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 9am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown. Burial in Assonet Burial Ground. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 5-8 PM.
